Connect by Hertz is the car sharing division of the Hertz car rental company. While this company isn’t as well known around the United States as bigger companies such as Zipcar, they do have a car sharing program in Houston. This program is available at the University of Houston, and is primarily focused on getting students to become more environmentally-conscious while at the same time, allowing them a cheaper mode of transportation.

Because Houston is such a large city, and many people need to get around but don’t want to worry about the hassle of car ownership, more and more companies are sure soon to expand into Houston and provide even more car sharing options for all Houston residents.

Car sharing is better for the environment, because it takes more cars off the road. But, what drivers will benefit from the most is the fact that often, the cost of things such as gas and insurance are included with the cost of sharing the car. So you can have all the benefits of owning a car, without having to worry about the high price involved.
